With her audiovisual series “ODE AN DAS HANDWERK”, the artist Donata Wenders dedicates herself to the appreciation of traditional crafts that are losing their social significance in the course of mechanisation.

The special exhibition “Ode to Craftsmanship” with films by Donata Wenders from 2019 to 2023 portrays craftsmanship in Saxony. Ten screen projections focus on trades that are characteristic of this tradition-rich region and which are sometimes threatened with disappearance, including the production of artificial flowers.
